Backward-facing step flow problem

The benchmark describes a backward-facing step flow problem, also known as sudden expansion flow. It can be considered as a simply supply flow scenario in building ventilation. Flow is isothermal and in the different regimes, from laminar to transition further to fully developed turbulent regime.

The original idea of this benchmark is from an ISHVAC-COBEE 2015 workshop, which focus on errors existing in CFD simulations, especially in connection with low turbulent flow. The benchmark test could provide a guide on selecting the proper turbulence model under different flow regime.
