Computer simulated person: Personalized ventilation
The use of personalized ventilation (PV) is a widely studied topic in the indoor environment community. There is a wide range of PV devices studied using experimental setups and computational fluid dynamics. The PV devices vary with respect to size, location, airflow, temperature, turbulence etc.
A benchmark test is introduced for a single nozzle PV system directed toward the breathing zone of a computer simulated person in a displacement ventilation system. The benchmark is designed to test individual variation (grid development, detail of manikin, software model etc.) using the boundary conditions proposed.
